Trukfoo

A mobile marketplace connecting food trucks and foodies across Fredericksburg VA — 55 trucks in beta, launching on iOS.

Food trucks were moving around Fredericksburg with no way to tell anyone where they'd be. Jerome wanted to own the local food and tourism market — starting with an app that puts every truck, every event, and every menu in one place.

Brief

The Brief

Jerome Patrick wanted to own the local food and tourism market in Fredericksburg VA — starting with an app that connects food trucks, foodies, and local event organisers in one place. What started as a locator concept became a full marketplace with marketing tools, event infrastructure, a QR-based growth mechanic, and a complete admin operating system.

Timeline

Timeline

Currently in beta with 55 trucks and 105 users. iOS launch imminent. Android to follow post-approval. Long-term client engagement with features in active development.

The Problem

Food trucks in Fredericksburg had no reliable way to tell customers where they'd be. Events were posted on Facebook. Locations changed without notice. Foodies had no central place to discover what was happening in their city — and truck owners had no tools to build a real customer base.

What they asked for. What we recommended instead.

Original brief

Our recommendation

Originally briefed as a simple food truck locator app. Through hour-long strategy sessions with Jerome, we pushed the product toward a full local marketplace — with marketing tools for truck owners, event infrastructure, a QR-based growth mechanic built into every truck, and an admin layer giving Jerome full control of the ecosystem. The locator is still there. What we built around it is the infrastructure for owning a local market.

Every session turns into an hour-long conversation about where this can go. Jahanzeb makes me think about features differently — and the product is better for it every time.
